President Joe Thomas discussing new options We welcomed President Joe Thomas with open arms and red shirts. The public face of the RedforEd movement graced us with his presence as he discussed the Arizona Education Association’s newest ballot initiative ideas. The AEA President is needing your input on the proposed options. Thomas made it clear that 60% of the Arizona voters support educators and the pursuit to get more dollars back in the school funding pocket. There is an option that could possibly bring in well over the proposed Ducey debacle 20% raise to teachers by 2020. We all know that that over publicized “promise” isn’t going to ALL teachers like the Performance Pay (Prop 301) does, let alone, help our support staff and the rest our wall to wall members in our district.
