AZ Cares Act Released

Image
Check out the latest on the AZ Cares Flexibility and Funding for Schools Plan. This plan is a one time moneys plan. Which is great for the situation we are in with COVID 19 but we need to remember  # INVESTinED  is what education needs for the "long game" to sustain the institution of public education in the future.  Click HERE to sign a petition to get it on the ballot in November. Spoke & Wheel Petition Station

Image
We had a good turnout at the Spoke & Wheel on Central Ave today. Sydney Knight had her BIG RED "SIGN HERE" signage attracting people from the street to come in and help with the INVESTinEd petition to go on the ballot in November.  Look at Victor Quinn standing out in that heat, as well, helping this important educational cause.  President Sarah Bennett and trusted member/volunteer, Roseanne Knight, greeted people who took the time to come by and sign.  We would also like to thank Vice President Lisa Love and Chantel Wissert for all their hard work!   If you missed today...NO WORRIES!  We will be at the Spoke & Wheel for the following dates & times: Tuesday June 16th 4pm - 7pm Saturday June 20th 11am - 2pm Tuesday June 23rd 4pm - 7pm  If those dates and locations don't work, please click HERE for addition places to sign!

INVESTinED Signing at Daddy O's

Image
Sydney Knight, WDEA member was hard at work out in the heat on Saturday morning.  She and her mother Roseanne Knight, helped WDEA with a signature event for the  INVESTinED petition to help put 900 million back into the pockets of public education.  The petition needs signatures so it can appear on the ballot in November for the Arizona public to vote YES!  You can read more information about INVESTinED HERE .  Only the top 1 percent of earners will contribute to this 900 million with a 3.5% surcharge on their earnings above $250,000.  We thank all of you that joined in this event; current board members, potential board members, WESD staff and the hardworking members of the WDEA!  GREAT JOB!
